Fashion and design students’ luxurious creations ooze glamour and elegance

ORIENTAL Vogue was the theme chosen when 48 IFTC International Academy of Fashion and Design (IFTC) students presented their stunning creations during the Young Fashion Stars Runway event recently.

The fashion extravaganza was held in Sungei Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur.

The innovative collections were inspired by Chinese costumes and the students did not disappoint.

Their design styles ranged from classical and contemporary cheongsam to oriental-chic high street fashion. The students experimented with unique silhouettes and fabric choices and were bold in their innovative designs.

Some even incorporated details such as small hoodies, fur capes and copious amounts of tulle.

Before the models took to the stage to show off the students’ designs, IFTC principal Annie Wong presented a stunning 10-piece capsule collection that was timelessly fashionable.

Many of Wong’s designs used rich fabrics and were reminiscent of the court dresses of Imperial China.

Her designs were also heavily embroidered and intricate, hugging the curves perfectly.

“To me, fashion has become very disposable. So, I wanted to create clothes that would last. Each design has a beautiful story,” Wong said.

True to her statement, the collection she presented was driven by immaculate style, luxurious designs and couture quality.
